Z SKATE: PARTICIPANT RELEASE AND WAIVER OF LIABILITY

  1. Acknowledgment of Risk I understand that skateboarding is a high-risk activity. I am aware that participating in Z Skate lessons, events, or freestyle sessions involves inherent risks, including but not limited to falls, collisions, and equipment failure. These risks can result in serious physical injury, permanent disability, or death.

  2. Waiver and Release of Liability In consideration of being allowed to participate, I, for myself and my heirs, hereby release and forever discharge Z Skate, its owners, officers, agents, employees, and instructors from any and all liability, claims, or causes of action arising out of any loss, damage, or injury—including death—sustained while on the premises or participating in Z Skate activities, regardless of the cause, including the negligence of the Released Parties.

  3. Mandatory Safety Equipment I acknowledge that wearing a helmet, knee pads, and elbow pads is a mandatory requirement for all Z Skate lessons. I agree to wear this equipment properly at all times while on a skateboard. I understand that failure to wear the required safety gear will result in immediate removal from the activity without a refund. It is my responsibility to ensure my equipment is in safe, working condition.

  4. Indemnification & Financial Responsibility I agree to hold Z Skate completely harmless and indemnify them against any and all costs, including legal fees and medical expenses, incurred as a result of my participation. I assume full financial responsibility for any injuries sustained or damage caused by me during the activity.

  5. Safety Compliance I agree to follow all safety instructions provided by Z Skate staff. I will seek immediate clarification from staff if I am unsure of any safety protocol or maneuver.

  6. Medical Consent In the event of an emergency, I authorize Z Skate staff to secure medical treatment on my behalf if I am unable to do so. I accept full responsibility for all costs associated with such medical care.

Z SKATE: CODE OF CONDUCT & LESSON POLICIES

1. Mandatory Safety Equipment

To participate in any Z Skate lessons or events, wearing a helmet, knee pads, and elbow pads is mandatory. This equipment must be worn properly at all times. Failure to comply will result in immediate removal from the session without a refund.

2. Professional Conduct & Instructional Standards

Z Skate is dedicated to skill development and progress.

  • Instructional Focus: These sessions are for active instruction and learning, not supervised childcare. Students are expected to be attentive and engaged.

  • Prohibited Conduct: Any form of harassment, bullying, use of profanity, or intentional physical aggression is strictly prohibited.

  • Instructor Authority: The instructor maintains the absolute right to terminate a lesson or remove a participant immediately if a student is not behaving, failing to listen to instructions, or disrupting the learning environment.

  • Consequences: No refunds or credits will be issued for sessions terminated due to conduct or focus issues.

3. Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy

  • 24-Hour Notice: A minimum of 24-hour notice is required to reschedule a lesson due to weather, health, or personal circumstances.

  • Same-Day Cancellations: Any cancellation made with less than 24-hour notice will result in a forfeiture of 50% of the lesson cost.

  • Late Cancellations: Any cancellation made within one (1) hour of the scheduled start time will result in a forfeiture of 100% of the lesson cost.

  • Instructor Rights: Z Skate instructors reserve the right to cancel classes or end lessons at their discretion (e.g., due to hazardous weather or safety concerns). In the event that an instructor must cancel or terminate a lesson for safety, technical, or behavioral reasons, the full lesson fee remains due and payable.

4. Payments & Refunds

  • Completed Lessons: Any lesson that has been performed must be paid for in full.

  • Lesson Packages: Should a participant choose to cancel a pre-paid package, the refund amount will be the total paid minus the standard individual rate for all sessions already completed.

5. Compliance with Instructions

Participants must follow all verbal instructions provided by Z Skate staff. If a participant is unsure of a safety requirement or a specific maneuver, they are expected to seek clarification immediately.
